Diablo 4 has officially gone gold-

It doesn’t mean much in this era of live-service games and day one patches, but ‘going gold’ is still a fun little milestone, and today Blizzard announced that Diablo 4 has officially crossed that line.

“Going gold is a landmark milestone for the incredible Diablo 4 team, who have all worked so hard crafting the next-generation installment of this iconic franchise,” Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson said. “This is a concrete, meaningful step toward our June 6 launch.

“Whether players are veterans of the franchise or jumping in for the first time, we can’t wait for everyone to experience the full game: taking part in the incredible storytelling, experimenting with character classes and builds, and exploring what the endgame and the dark world of Sanctuary has to offe…

$1 Game Pass deal vanishes ahead of Starfield launch-

The $1 PC Game Pass introductory price has evaporated again. The deal has been offered off and on for years now, but mostly on, and has included as much as a three month subscription to Microsoft’s game library. Mostly it’s been one month for $1, which was reduced to 15 days for $1 at the start of August, and has now been reduced to nada. PC Game Pass is back to $10/month from the start. The console version is also its standard $11/month, and Game Pass Ultimate is $16/month.

It’s pretty obvious why the deal was dropped now: to keep us from paying $1 to power through Starfield in two weeks, which would come to a 98.57% discount on Starfield’s $70 Standard Edition, with the obvious caveat that you’d have to stop playing at the end of the trial.

The regular $10/month PC Game Pa…

Here’s a mod that makes your Skyrim forests all dense and lovely-

In videogames sometimes “forests” have like two or three dozen trees. That’s too few trees. Or they have lots of trees, but the trees are really widely spaced out. Twenty or thirty feet apart. Obviously, all of these forests are nonsense. We won’t even begin to address the forests where the trees are too dense to travel through except on the main path the developers want you to follow.

For all its strengths, Skyrim is a game without good forests. Too few trees, and they’re too small. No more! Building on work done in earlier mods, Fabled Forests for Skyrim Special Edition gives you “tall, dense, FPS-friendly forests to get lost in.”

Modder Kojilama offers up two versions: One is just nice, dense, lush woodlands with tall trees. Not so tall that you can’t have sunlight …

I didn’t expect my favorite cozy MMO to do a crossover with a Finnish children’s series-

This weekend, Thatgamecompany kicked off celebrations for the fifth anniversary of its Journey-like flying and collecting MMO Sky: Children of the Light with a giant in-game screen à la a Fortnite concert event. CEO Jenova Chen presented players with a list of upcoming features and improvements to the game—I’m unironically psyched for a favorite emotes quick list—but the big “one more thing” announcement at the end of the keynote was the game’s autumn seasonal collaboration: Moomin.

I’ll admit I still know less than three things about Moomin even after playing a bit of Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley earlier this year, but I’m in the minority there. Originally created by Finnish artist Tove Jansson, the little hippo-shaped creatures and friends are…

Remnant 2’s now sold 2 million copies, and I’m not 2 surprised-

Remnant 2’s done very well. Granted, the first game, Remnant: From the Ashes, wasn’t terrible either. We gave it a 77 back in our review back in 2019—a respectable score. It can’t be overstated how much its sequel stepped things up in comparison.

Even if you just run the numbers: PC Gamer’s Rick Lane gave it 84 in his Remnant 2 review, saying that it gave him “exactly what I want from gaming, namely unique and exciting adventures with my pals that never rely on the numbers going up to keep me planted in my chair.”

The public seems to agree with that assessment. Remnant 2 sold a million copies in just four days. Well, now that number’s doubled.

This was revealed in a quarterly report by the Embracer Group, which states the game: “sold more than 2 million uni…
